Task 23 - THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL!!

Mai mai, there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel after all. A few more greys added to my wig but I still look like CINDER-WELLA (lol). In any case, I'm suppose to blog about my overall experience with Web 2.0 so here I go:

I am absolutely over the moon with this journey I've had with Web 2.0 and I wish to sincerely acknowledge the workmanship of all our Manukau Libraries Training & Development Team, for their time and effort put into this in order for us staff to exceed in our learning and development progress consistently. To all the naggers and the hasslers whom without fail pestered me to get my blog finished hahahaha, I owe you all a coffin each and will be filing a report on harassment and aggravation with the Otara police station soon (lol)...just kidding!! Nah, I THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart, for the awesome experience. I've had so much fun and can now confidently explore Web 2.0 with the technologies it transmitted without fear of not knowing what it is.

Last but not least, to all my colleagues who are on their way to the FINISH LINE....keep going and never give up....there is DEFINITE JOY at the end of this journey for sure, that I can guarantee you!! Drink lots of Panadol & Vodka while singing 'I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES'and you'll be fine..hahaha...(just kidding). Nah, just stop making excuses and GET ON WITH IT...YOU HEAR...(lol). Persevere and you'll make all them wrinkles on your face disappear with a huge SMILE at the end of your blog journey!!

Bon Voyage!!

Week 4: Task 11 - ANYTHING TECHNOLOGY RELATED

BEBO'ING

Now where do I start......I have my morning tea on bebo...my lunch...my afternoon tea on bebo...and sometimes.....I stay in during late nights when I'm not working....just to go on bebo...hahahahaha. What a bebo addict...hahaha....(NO COMMENTS FROM ME COLLEAGUES PLEASE)....hehehehe.

Bebo is a social networking site used by millions of people throughout the world. I like it because it enables me to keep in close contact with my relatives throughout the world. Depending on whether we all go online at the same time, we can basically chat with each other online bebo. Just like blogging, bebo enables you to have a blog, photo albums, add music videos etc. It's a wonderful social network site available for families and friends to catch up. So go to it is my advise (lol) and my the force be with you!!

Week 6:14 - Tagging in Del.icio.us

Del.icio.us Challenge:

Well, this was yet another challenging but rewarding task. I opened an account in Del.icio.us and started tagging/bookmarking. There's alot to take in but practice makes perfect I guess.

Week 5:13 - Adding an Entry to the Sandbox Wiki

Manukau Libraries Wiki - For this “explore-and-play-with-wikis” exercise

Well, I followed the instructions and managed to add my 'Favourite Comedy Shows' page to Manukau Libraries Wiki...hooray!! This exercise was fun and easy to do.

Week 5: 12 - The Wiki Hula

I had fun looking through the SJCPL Subject Guides – a pathfinder wiki developed by the St. Joseph County Public Library system. It was easy to surf and understand because it was in plain librarian language. And I think keeping a Wiki simple is better than making it complicated and hard to follow. I liked the fact that almost all the subject guides on this Wiki were relatively common to me as a librarian. I think Manukau Libraries would do well with Wikipedia but we must remember that there is always a good and bad in everything. After reading through some comments posted under some other Wikis I've read through in the process of finding out what a Wiki is, I'm also mindful that it is definitely a two way sword. The information provided on it must be accurate and factual, and mustn't be misused at any time. It would be wonderful to include all the information sources and resources available at our Research Library ie- the wealth of knowledge we have in our Heritage and Family History Collections.

Second Part of Week 2

I like Toxi.net the best because it's got some nz newsfeed items. I didn't like Technorati because it's very Americanise. Syndic8.com was blocked and I couldn't access it so I wouldn't know what it is (lol).

Week 2: Bloglines

Brown Girl in the Rings Bloglines

Mai mai, thanks to Lucy, I now know a little bit more about bloglines. I must admit it was abit blurry when I started this bloglines journey, the instructions were not clear and required a genius like Lucy to help a Loonie like me hehehehe.

Week 1: First Time Blogging

I must admit the first task to this blogging business was quite easy. Playing around with the templates was fun, and revealing who we are and adding pictures.
